The Montreal Ash

We were very eager to tell you about the Mtl ash. This type of wood is revalued from diseased trees in Montreal, unfortunately affected by the emerald ash borer.

We have used this wood species a few times for custom residential or commercial projects and dreamed of making it a mini collection accessible to the public. Finally, we decided to integrate it into the wood species offered in our brand new furniture collection.

You can't get a more local piece of furniture than a table, bench or stool made of this wood. In addition, ash is a hard and strong wood, therefore very durable.

It is with the Centre de Revalorisation du Bois Urbain , with whom we share common values, namely the revaluation of wood and the circular economy, that we collaborate to supply ourselves. CVBU supplies itself directly at the source (municipalities and institutions), it then transforms the diseased trees into boards for resale to the community or the manufacture of furniture in their workshop.

This is a great example of a circular economy.
Their mission: “To give a second life to urban trees.”

Ash is a very warm wood, usually light, but with beautiful variations from medium to dark golden brown. Since its grain is open, this gives it a slight texture.

We invite you to discover our new favorite wood essence through the following inspirations and by consulting our collection of furniture available in Montreal ash.
