We were very eager to tell you about the Mtl ash. This species of wood that is revalorized from the unfortunately diseased trees of Montreal.
We have used this wood species sometimes for residential or commercial projects and dreamed of making a mini collection accessible to the public. Finally, we decided to integrate it into the wood species offered in our brand new furniture collection.
You can’t get more local than a table, bench or stool made of this wood. Moreover, ash is a hard and solid wood, therefore very durable.
We collaborate with the organization Bois Public, with whom we share common values, namely the revalorization of wood and the circular economy, in order to obtain our supplies. Bois Public sources its wood directly from the source (municipalities and institutions), and then transforms the diseased trees into boards for resale to the community or for furniture manufacturing in their Montreal workshop.
It is a great example of circular economy.
Their mission: ”To make revalorized wood a common wealth”.
Ash is a very warm wood, usually light, but with beautiful variations of medium to dark golden brown. Since its grain is open, it gives it a light texture.
We invite you to discover our new favorite wood species via the following inspirations and by consulting our collection of furniture available in Montreal ash.
